Grass and leaves

Normally I do not compost autumn leaves as they take a long time to rot down (See the section on leaf mould).  However this year as a result of the wet weather and an iffy knee I have not cut the lawn allowing the grass to get a bit on the long side and cannot face raking up the  sycamore leaves. I have decided to take a chance a mowed the grass and leaves (to shred them) and put the cuttings in the compost bins. I normally compost the lawn mowings with the addition of lots of shreded computer paper and I have added this to the grass/leaves mix. The lot has been shared between my 5 bins and we will see how quicky the leaves compost as part of a mix.
