Summer Vegetable Weekend: 15 & 16 August, 11am-4pm

If you love growing your own food then Barnsdale is the place to be this weekend.

The productive areas that are normally off-limits to visitors, will be open  and their  expert grower will be available to advise you on your own veggie production and chat about her favourite subject!  We will be there as part of a National allotment Society  stand and will be offering children the chance to make a Rotbot. Making a Rotbot

If you’ve visited Barnsdale  earlier in the year you’ll enjoy seeing our crops coming to fruition, and if you come along on Sunday, you can take in a demonstration of seasonal cookery too, using our own home-grown produce.

All for the price of Garden admission: adult £7.50, concession £6.50, child £3.50, family (up to 5) £21.

Just want to come for a spot of retail therapy and a great lunch or afternoon tea? Entry to the Barnsdale Gardens Gift Shop, Nursery and Tea Room is free.

National Garden Scheme Open Day at ULBG

We welcomed 64 visitors to the Compost Demonstration site yesterday during the National Gardens Open Day. As always the wormeries proved to be the most popular attraction with the children while the adults were more interested in the range of bins available and in getting answers to their composting problems.

We will be going back to attending the site on Saturday afternoons  until the Heritage Plant Sale when we will be on site on the sunday rather than Saturday
